Earlobe Repair

Many women have torn earlobes or piercing holes that are enlarged. This prevents them from being able to wear pierced earrings. Earlobe reconstruction is performed to repair the damaged skin closing the defect. Once the earlobe has healed (for about 2 months), it can be re-pierced, usually in the original location. The procedure is usually performed with local anesthesia.

Complications possible include swelling, bruising, infection, wound breakdown and scarring. Fortunately, these complications are very rare and patients are able to enjoy wearing pierced earrings once again.
